On October 17, local time, the I2SL officially announced that the CNOOC Energy Technology Development and Research Institute project won the 2018 Go Beyond Award Best Project Award. This project was jointly designed by 3A2 Design Institute of Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Beijing Dynaflow Lab Solutions Co., Ltd. This is the first time that Chinese and Asian laboratory has won this honor.
Compared with traditional buildings, the CNOOC Energy Technology Development and Research Institute project can save more than 60% of energy and 42% of water. It saves 2.22 million yuan in electricity bills and 121,400 yuan in water bills every year. It can reduce CO² 2300.95 tons, SO² 18.55 tons, and dust 9.36 tons every year. CNOOC Energy Technology Development and Research Institute has obtained LEED gold level and three-star green building certification.
The Go Beyond Award mainly recognizes the design, energy conservation and sustainability of laboratories and other high-tech facilities. The award is based on the sustainable development laboratory strategy implemented by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Department of Environmental Protection. Only LEED-certified projects are available. Eligible to participate in the selection. The American Excellence Award is currently one of the most influential awards in the laboratory field recognized internationally. It is selected every year or two years, and it has been ten years.
